Ministry Overview
Since 1890, Methodist Children's Home has been serving at-risk children and youth in Texas and New Mexico. We presently serve more than 600 children through five programs:
At Methodist Children's Home, we focus on the unique talents, interests and abilities of our residents, not their failures. The Home's
strength-based philosophy of care provides an effective alternative to less-successful ways of dealing with at-risk children who exhibit a variety of behavioral or emotional needs.
Methodist Children's Home receives no apportionments from United Methodist churches, nor do we contract for state or federal funding. Earnings from the Home's endowment fund provide for the majority of annual operating costs. However, the Home must raise nearly $3 million each year through donations to help fund this dynamic ministry.
